Local community organisations and groups across the electorate of Moggill are encouraged to apply for the 2026–27 Age-friendly Seniors Month Grants, with funding of between $5,000 and $15,000 now available to support local initiatives for older Queenslanders.
State Member for Moggill, Dr Christian Rowan MP, said the grants provide practical support for projects that help create inclusive, connected and supportive communities for seniors.
“Older Queenslanders play vital roles in our community as carers, workers, volunteers and leaders, and it is important their contributions are recognised and supported,” Dr Rowan said.
“The Crisafulli LNP State Government is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders and backing grassroots, community-led initiatives that make a real difference locally.”
“These grants are about creating opportunities for older people to stay connected, access local services and continue contributing to community life.”
Funding is available for community-led initiatives that respond to local needs and support people as they age, including projects that strengthen social connection, promote participation and celebrate the contribution of seniors.
Dr Rowan said local organisations are strongly encouraged to consider applying.
“Across the Moggill electorate we have many community groups, clubs and organisations already doing outstanding work supporting older residents,” he said.
“This program provides an opportunity to expand that work, deliver new initiatives and ensure seniors remain active, connected and valued members of our community.”
Projects may include intergenerational activities, regular community programs, events in local libraries or community spaces, and culturally inclusive initiatives that help build age-friendly communities.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 27 March 2026.
