The ShedWest Community Men’s Shed is making the most of their latest addition to their equipment, a new Laser Cutter Machine, which has been made possible thanks to a State Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund Grant.
Following a visit to the ‘Blue Shed’ to visit local ShedWest Members and see the machine in action, Dr Christian Rowan MP, the State Member for Moggill, said the addition of this equipment would benefit not only the ShedWest Community Men’s Shed, but the broader community.
“When I was first approached by the ShedWest Community Men’s Shed about the need for this new and innovative equipment, I was very happy to advocate and support their grant application.
“The possibilities and potential that this new equipment can produce is endless, and the benefits will be realised by ShedWest Members, and our broader community, for many years to come.”
“Not only is it literally producing fantastic, tangible products, but it’s also enabling a terrific learning and upskilling opportunity for all members of ShedWest Men’s Shed.” Dr Rowan said.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund has multiple application rounds throughout the year, for community organisations, sporting groups, and not for profits to apply for grant funding of up to $35,000.
