The Crisafulli LNP State Government has announced the Moggill Electorate’s share of more than $16 million in grants as a part of a record-setting round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).
Across Queensland, almost 630 community groups have been awarded grants of up to $35,000, to support a wide range of projects and initiatives.
The latest round delivers a welcome boost to the Moggill Electorate, with funding helping to upgrade local facilities, support grassroots sporting clubs and provide essential services.
More than 2000 applications were received across the State, which was the largest number in the program’s 31-year history.
Recipients across the Moggill Electorate will share in $88,500 in funding, including:
- $35,000 for the Upper Brookfield Community Hall to progress much-needed upgrades
- Over $34,8000 for the Brookfield United Cricket Club to purchase a new Mower and other Field Maintenance Equipment, and
- Almost $6,000 for our local Bellbowrie Mens Shed for various amenities upgrades.
Dr Christian MP, State Member for Moggill, said the grants would help community organisations at a time when budgets have been stretched by cost-of-living increases.
“I’m delighted that this much-needed additional funding has been secured for our wonderful local community groups and sporting organisations, with vital upgrades and equipment purchases now able to be progressed.
“Congratulations to all grant recipients, and thank you for the work you do to help our local community thrive.” Dr Rowan said.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for Integrity Deb Frecklington said the record-breaking interest in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund demonstrated its importance to local communities.
“These grants are a huge benefit across Queensland’s towns, rural centres and cities, and they can be a lifeline for organisations that are doing it tough,” the Attorney-General said.
“You only need to look at the list of recipients in Round 122 to see the difference these grants make to the people and places that make our State strong.
Following the impacts of recent natural disasters, the upcoming GCBF Super Round (Round 124) has been rescheduled to ensure impacted organisations have the time and capacity to apply for funding.
Round 124 of the GCBF, offering grants of up to $100,000, will open 9 June and close 18 July 2025.
