Local small and family businesses were placed firmly in the spotlight for Small Business Month, with th eState Member for Moggill, Dr Christian Rowan MP, recently welcoming the Minister for Small and Family Business, the Hon. Steve Minnikin MP, to the electorate.
Dr Rowan said the visit provided an important opportunity to hear directly from local business owners about the challenges and opportunities facing the small business sector across Brisbane’s western suburbs.
“Small and family businesses are the backbone of our local economy, creating jobs, supporting local families and helping build the strong communities we value across the electorate of Moggill,” Dr Rowan said.
“As part of the Minister’s visit, I was pleased to host a Small Business Roundtable together with members of the Brisbane Inner West Chamber of Commerce, providing local businesses with the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss priorities for the future.”
Dr Rowan said the Crisafulli LNP Government was committed to delivering practical support for Queensland’s small business sector through its Small Business First approach.
“The Crisafulli LNP Government understands that when small businesses succeed, local communities prosper,” he said.
“Our Small Business First approach is focused on reducing unnecessary red tape, improving access to government services and fostering innovation, ensuring Queensland remains a great place to start, operate and grow a business.”
Dr Rowan thanked local business owners and chamber representatives who participated in the visit and roundtable discussions.
“I want to acknowledge and thank all of our local small and family businesses for the enormous contribution they make to our community each and every day,” Dr Rowan said.
“Their hard work, resilience and commitment continue to drive economic activity across our region and help make the electorate of Moggill such a great place to live, work and do business.”
