More than 120 current and future prep students, parents, and teachers have come together to celebrate the Official Opening of Pullenvale State School’s New Prep Playground.
As prep students put the outdoor equipment through rigorous testing, the local State Member for Moggill, Dr Christian Rowan MP, joined school Principal Natala Crawley in acknowledging the incredible effort of the Pullenvale State School community to bring this project to life.
“It has been my pleasure to support and advocate for this important local school infrastructure, and to secure State Government funding through the School Subsidy Scheme. It really has been a combined effort involving the school, parents, and P&C to champion and fundraise for this much-needed learning area.
“I particularly want to acknowledge the commitment and dedication from the Pullenvale State School P&C who have long supported this project. It’s been a pleasure to support their fundraising efforts to contribute to the cost of the project, including through sponsoring their terrific ‘State of Origin’ fundraiser at our local Pullenvale Hall.
“My congratulations to Principal Natala Crawley and to the Pullenvale State School P&C Leadership, both past and present, for ensuring that our current and future prep students have access to modern and play learning infrastructure, in a safe outdoor teaching environment. This truly is a special and wonderful school asset.” Dr Rowan said.
The $300,000+ project to replace and upgrade the existing Outdoor Education Area received over $148,000 from the School Subsidy Scheme, with the remaining project cost funded jointly by both the P&C, and Pullenvale State School.
