Staff, children, and local representatives gathered together on Wednesday 5 December to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Our Lady of the Rosary Kindergarten, with the special unveiling of a new mural.
Local artist, Carol O’Sullivan, was ably assisted by many of this year’s Kindergarten students to produce an incredible art installation, spanning the entire length of the Kindy’s retaining wall.
Prior to the piece’s unveiling, Ms Alice Cottrell, Kindergarten Committee President, paid tribute to the staff and local community who have supported the Kindy throughout the last 20 years, noting that more than 350 four-year-olds have passed through the Kindy’s doors in that time.
Dr Christian Rowan MP, State Member for Moggill and LNP Shadow Minister for Arts, said the mural unveiling marked a special moment in the Kindy’s history.
“OLR Kindergarten has been such an integral part of the Kenmore and western suburbs community, and what better way to celebrate this great achievement than by getting the current Kindy cohort involved in such a terrific, and lasting project.
“Once again my sincere congratulations to local artist Carol and all the children involved on such an outstanding piece, and thank you again to the Kindergarten for such a thoroughly enjoyable morning.”
