LNP State Member for Moggill, Dr Christian Rowan MP, has announced that under a Deb Frecklington LNP Government, $170,000 in grant funding would be provided to a number of local community service and sporting groups in the electorate of Moggill, including:
- The Mount Crosby Bowls Club
- The Brookfield United Cricket Club
- The Kenmore District Girl Guides
- The Moggill Girl Guides
- The Rotary Club of Karana Bellbowrie
- The Yarawa Pony Club
Dr Rowan said that the grants, to be provided should the LNP win the upcoming state election on October 31, was in addition to his existing commitments made to support the Cubberla Witton Catchments Network, the Moggill Creek Catchments Group, the Pullen Pullen Catchments Group, The Hut Environmental Community Association, the Moggill Pony Club, the Brookfield Horse and Pony Club, the Karana Downs Pony Club and UQFC Kenmore.
“These groups not only provide vital services to their members but also to the wider community and this funding will be utilitised to upgrade existing infrastructure, improve community engagement and member outreach and enhance existing provision of services.” Dr Rowan said.
President of the Brookfield United Cricket Club, Mr Tim McGuire said: “The funding commitment will go towards carrying out repairs and much-needed upgrades to the Clubhouse including a new canteen facility so that the Club can continue to be a vital part of the community for many more years to come.”
“Only the Liberal National Party is committed to investing in our local grassroots community organisations and sporting & recreational clubs.” Dr Rowan said.
