This last year, especially the last 4 months, has been unlike any other in our recent history.
Dr Christian Rowan MP, the State Member for Moggill and Shadow Minister for Communities said that whilst unfortunately the 110th Brookfield Show could not be held in 2020, he was pleased that the Brookfield Show Society ensured the local contributions of many in our community could still be celebrated, including the awarding of the Brookfield Show Society-State Member for Moggill Community Shield.
“Local community groups and volunteer organisations have gone above and beyond in recent times, and it is the extraordinary effort and support provided by the Brookfield Rural Fire Brigade during Australia’s recent, and horrific, fire season that rightly deserves to be recognised.”
“The Brookfield Show Society-State Member for Moggill Community Shield was established to recognise the outstanding contribution made by a local community group, and it is my absolute pleasure to be able to join with Brookfield Show Society President, Jenny Paratz, and award this to all members of the Brookfield Rural Fire Brigade, including First Officer Mark Farmer and Second Officer Michael Gordon” Dr Rowan said.
