Celebrating Two Sisters
Thursday, 18 April 2019
Dr Christian Rowan MP, the State Member for Moggill and LNP Shadow Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and LNP Shadow Minister for the Arts, officially opened the Two Sisters exhibition at the Kenmore Gallery on Friday April 12.
Speaking at the event, Dr Rowan said the exhibition was a unique opportunity for local residents to experience and see magnificent works of indigenous art.
“This exhibition really is a story of two sisters; with a display of recent works by Louise Numina and, I’m excited to say, the introduction of Louise’s sister, Lanita Numina.
“As both the LNP Shadow Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, and the Arts, it’s particularly special to be able to celebrate this event locally and my sincere thanks to Liz Barker for facilitating this great exhibition.” Dr Rowan said.
Friday night’s official opening also offered attendees an exclusive preview of the Numina Collection, featuring a number of designs by Brisbane-based fashion designer, Pia Du Pradal, that were inspired by and made in collaboration with Louise Numina.
The exhibition runs until the end of April.
