- Business community condemns Treasurer Curtis Pitt’s performance
- Curtis Pitt incapable of making tough decision for the betterment of the state
- Businesses have lost confidence in the incompetent Palaszczuk Labor Government
Queensland’s business community has condemned the performance of Treasurer Curtis Pitt as employment and confidence slump under the failed policies of the Palaszczuk Labor Government.
Shadow Minister for the Environment & Heritage Protection, Dr Christian Rowan MP, said even Mr Pitt’s own Labor colleagues are now branding him as “incapable” and a “deadweight.”
“Yesterday we saw Pickpocket Pitt blindsided by the Together Union as it joined the LNP in attacking his latest raid on public servant superannuation,” he said. “Now the state’s peak business group, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ), has revealed many businesses have lost confidence in the Palaszczuk Government and believe it is anti-business.
“Mr Pitt has achieved the extraordinary feat of uniting business, the unions and even Labor figures in despairing over the Treasurer’s incompetence.”
Dr Rowan said the condemnation of Mr Pitt followed last week’s latest Labour Force figures which showed employment in Queensland fell for the fifth straight month.“
CommSec’s State of the State report revealed Queensland was battling Tasmania for the economic wooden spoon rather than competing with NSW and Victoria to lead Australia,” he said.
“Mr Pitt tried to shoot the messenger when he rejected CommSec’s findings and he’s likely to do the same today over these latest criticisms of his performance.”
