The Palaszczuk Labor Government’s appalling track record on delivering projects speaks for itself.
Labor simply cannot deliver projects on-time or on-budget and Queenslanders are footing the bill.
The Palaszczuk Labor Government’s failure to plan and deliver now means Brisbane’s new Inner West Primary School has been effectively shelved until further notice.
Under the watch of the Palaszczuk Labor Government millions of dollars have been wasted on staggering project blowouts, including $23 million for the Brisbane South State Secondary College and Fortitude Valley State Secondary College.
The Queensland Auditor General also last year exposed shocking failings in the Department of Education, including:
- The Department of Education did not have fully documented internal contract management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- The Department of Education did not have complete and accurate records of infrastructure contracts to enable efficient monitoring and reporting on contract progress and performance, and
- The Department of Education’s contract register did not provide a complete and accurate record of its infrastructure contracts or enable an effective audit trail for tracking and reporting.
Not only has the Palaszczuk Labor Government failed to ensure Queensland has enough teachers, they’ve also failed to provide the infrastructure and resources our schools need.
Queenslanders deserve better.
