Art and Earth Care

Wednesday, 18 September 2019

Address of Event: Kenmore Uniting Church, 982 Moggill Rd, Kenmore
Date of Event: 5/10/2019
Time of Event: 9 am - 3 pm

The day will use themes from the ecumenical Season of Creation, looking at the interconnectedness of God, Humanity and the Environment through the lenses of art, meditation and scripture to deepen our commitment to caring for our common home. The day will be guided by Rev Douglas Jones, Old Testament scholar, who will help participants to read key passages of Scripture in the context of major environmental challenges as he explores the themes of God and Creation, Wisdom and Creation and Lover and Creation. Artist Peter Hunter will use his own works to draw the personal out of the theological, and contemplate these sacred relationships through the medium of art. Participants will have a chance to create their own labyrinth for continued meditation and reflection. Morning tea and lunch will be provided and dietary requirements can be catered for. Join us for an ecumenical day of prayer, meditation, biblical reflection and art . A contemplative treat for all people interested. To register please use the Trybooking link on the church website www.kenmoreuca.org.au. Any enquiries please contact Rev Dona Spencer (0405 319 404). $30 for the day covers costs of meals and resource materials. Registration is essential because of catering, but payment can be made online or at the office beforehand or cash or cheque on the day.
